Hope in the Hills Christian Church is led by a team of elders,
deacons and congregational representatives who are endorsed by the church community.
The key role of Leadership Council is to guide the vision and direction of the church, oversee pastoral care and teaching and ensure church members are equipped for their ministry roles.
They represent Jesus amongst his people, guiding and caring through his Word.
Leo is our Pastor. Leo is married to Elisabeth and they have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Leo has over 33 years of experience as a minister, with qualifications in ministry, psychology and coaching. He loves to teach the Bible so people can see the wonder and graciousness of God in Jesus, as well as train and mentor others to discover and excel in their own ministry. Leo is deeply passionate about issues of justice and care for the sufferer, the broken and the abused. His key role in the church is to be a teacher equipper of the community providing oversight of pastoral care and leadership.
Jarrod is our Children’s, Youth and Families Worker. Jarrod was born and raised in the foothills of the Dandenongs and feels blessed to call this part of Melbourne his home. Although growing up in a Christian family, Jarrod’s own steps of faith didn’t come until he was 21, grateful that God both prompted him and used good friends in the process. Jarrod received a bachelor of Theology through the Bible College of Victoria in 2010. He is one of the select few who married his high school crush – Jacqueline – and is now a delighted, albeit tired, father to Sam and Jude. At Hope in the Hills, Jarrod’s chief desire and primary role is to encourage and equip parents, young people and children to see and know the goodness and glory of God. We do this so that the families in our church may live joyfully the way God intended, and that everyone we encounter might know this joy too!
